CLASS: MOTO3
TEAM: ONGETTA RIVACOLD
RIDERS: ANTONELLI N. 23 – DANILO N. 95
BIKE: HONDA NSF250RW
DATE: 26 JUNE 2016
CIRCUIT: ASSEN – THE NETHERLANDS

Great race for both riders of the Ongetta Rivacold Racing team at Assen circuit. Niccolò Antonelli and Jules Danilo crossed the finishing line of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands respectively in fifth and sixth position, after a hard race where riders fought untile under the checkered flag. The podium was really close for Nicco who closed only 0.136s from the best rider. Great performance even for the French Jules Danilo who closed behind his teammate, by signing his best result in career in the World Championship.

Niccolò Antonelli: « Today I did a great comeback from the thirteenth position. It was a shame for the podium, I really would like to do it here. I was second just three corners to the end, but I stayed blocked in the group and this made me lost the podium. Anyway, we were fast in this weekend and that’s an important signal for the next races. We will try again at Sachsenring« .

Jules Danilo: « It was a great race, I really had lot of fun even if it was hard. The feeling with the bike was excellent and we worked really well for the whole weekend. Even if the qualifying was not good, today I was calm as I was feeling comfortable, especially in braking. This condition made me feel confident when overtaking. Assen has never been an easy track for me but, after this week end, I collected important data for the future and now the podium is not so far ».

CIRCUIT: ASSEN – THE NETHERLANDS

Fifth row for the riders of the Ongetta Rivacold Racing Team at TT Assen Circuit. Niccolò Antonelli and Jules Danilo will start side by side, respectively from the thirteenth and fourteenth position on the grid. After times of all the free practices, expectations were higher for the qualifying , but the rain that wet some sections of the track, didn’t allow to improve consistently the times in the crucial phase of the session. Weather conditions are uncertain for tomorrow but both riders, whatever happens, are ready for the race.

Niccolò Antonelli: « I hoped to start a little bit ahead, but the rain at the end of the session ruined my plans. During the last available lap I tried to push, in order to improve my position on the grid, but I crashed. Tomorrow I hope in better track conditions« .

Jules Danilo: « Here, in Assen, I had a good feeling from the first day and the goal was to get the top ten even on the grid but, every time I tried to push, I always found someone ahead who blocked me. When turning alone my pace was good, but not enough for the top ten. Anyway, the race is tomorrow and we will fight to stay in the group ahead ».
